I agree that original sin is not a uniquely Christian concept.

Go to a small town anywhere in the world and you mention a certain last name, that last name is scorned. Now, let's say a person with last name whose own actions are mutually exclusive of his or her relatives, they are guilty by association because of that last name.

I recently came to believe that guilt by association in certain contexts is a corollary of original sin.
