Creative Practicing - Practice Creatively is a five part video series by master Composer/Trombonist Ed Neumeister. Ed discusses and demonstrates ways to make "doing" more focused, enjoyable, efficient and effective. He uses practicing an instrument as an example of how to remain focused on the task of the moment. Using breathing, improvisation and composition to develop technique on the instrument.
Ed is THE man, the most creative improvisor on trombone today.

This is so cool. I just stumbled across it, but this guy has a great way of describing things. I even paused for the 12 minutes meditation! Definately feel freer with the way I breathe when I'm playng (less forced, more like natural breathing but actually taking in more air than I did beforehand and getting a better sound). Seems like the kind of thing every wind instrument player needs to see.

Your dexterity and smoothness is amazing Ed!!! You took me back to my martial arts training when you talked about breathing. I forgot to concentrate on it. I have become a "grip 'em and rip 'em" player. Thanks for making me think about taking it back to step one!!!
