When I choose options such as avoid freeways, a route is generated, But when I download it to my Zumo, it sometimes changes the route, which I don't want. The settings on my Zumo are the same, such as avoid highways.

Is there a way to make sure the original map transfers to my Zumo?

You must send your Garmin back to have it reset.

What about if you put in an address that is not on your GPS maps. I have 2009 maps that don't have certain streets on them, how would it handle that?

You forgot to add that you need to install the Communicator plug-in first. The link is right on the MapQuest send link...but still.

I love my Nuvi 755t, btw!

It is such a handy feature. Compatibility is pretty good. I have tried it with an i3 and a nuvi 350 on my Mac, they all worked very well. You need to make sure the device is "mounted" first.
The plug-in is free, I'm sure garmin website has more info.
