A magnetic top is kept suspended in the air by a magnet below it. The top stays up due to its spinning, which stabilizes it.
Search it or something to learn more about it, or buy one yourself, they're really cool.

In the first video segment, I meant to encase the top, then reopen the plastic container without knocking it down, but I accidentally did. Oh well.

The second part I wanted to see how long the top would stay up. 2:50 is one of the longest runs I've seen.

Also, I edited out TONS AND TONS of failed attempts to get the top spinning and floating. This thing is HARD. Once you finally get it though, it's so fun to play around with it (see first video segment).

And FYI this has NOTHING to do with anti-gravity. It's all magnetism. I can't believe the Mythbusters tested this as anti-gravity. I thought they were smarter than that. Sure the box says "The Amazing Anti-Gravity Top", but it's saying it defies gravity, not negates it.

  • That is NOT antigravity . That is just antimagetism , no more no less. Antigravity is something altogether diffrent !

  • @nicktesla45 No shit. You did not read the description; I explicitly state that this is "NOT antigravity". Next time don't be an idiot and READ before you POST.

i will do eny thing please!!!

  • @2332Greenday1 Patience. I had every single problem that you just described. It took a long time to get this video made. You just need to experiment with the weights and heights of the support screws.

  • I was being stupid when I thought of using the stopwatch. I could've timed it later.

  • @2332Greenday1 check my video out, munes cherrywood, but basicly the same concept. (I) used one large brass, one small brass, one large plastic, one medium plastic, and rubber. if you are having trouble, read the manual, ill sum it up for you. keep elbow high, push down and spin. its best if you practice on a regular flat surface first. i was able to make it float probably around an hour or so, Remember to ajust weight, and the stability. different environments may cause different outcomes. Sub?
