Biography
The project features a solo female vocalist called Giovanna Manfredi. In 1993, she was chosen from among a pool of talented singers to record an 8-song pop/dance album. The album, entitled Secrets Of The Heart, was released in 1994 with great success, with three of its songs put into regular rotation on Ottawa airwaves for a period of over 14 months.
The single Hold Me Now was produced by Louis St Laurent, Marc Deslauriers and Marc-André Dubois. It was chosen for a 14-song compilation, distributed across Canada.
Giovanna has worked with some of the music industry's finest, including Leslie Howe (Alanis Morissette, Artificial Joy Club) and Frank Levin (Alanis Morissette, Eight Seconds), and performed at Ottawa events including the Heart Institute Telethon, the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario Telethon, Canada Day celebrations, and the opening ceremonies of Winterlude, alongside Canadian favourites Moxy Fruvous. Giovanna has sung the national anthem at Frank Clair stadium, to start off a game for the former football team, the Ottawa Rough Riders, and has made special appearances on Musique Plus and at major bars in Montreal. In addition to these accomplishments, Giovanna was recognized by CHUM radio station KOOL 93.9 as one of the "93.9 Reasons to Stay KOOL", in a list that also included artists Celine Dion and Mariah Carey.
