  • Man I miss all the old time drivers in Nascar. Now all there is are young punks who run there mouths off, they have really ruined Nascar

  • Davey Allison was one of my favorites and I liked Earnhardt too at the time. Earnhardt was right about Allison, he was coming up fast and looked like he had a bright future ahead. As did Kulwicki. Really a shame what happened. I like Allison how humble and fun he was to watch race

  • One reason I've quit watching NASCAR these days as opposed to before is the fact that it's too equal. The young talent is there now, but there will never be a legend for nearly the next fifthteen to thirty years from this point out. Nascarfanatic hit it on the head. Gordon and Martin are the only ones left as TRUE legends. Everyone else? Well, I'm sorry to say, folks, but they're just an illusion. Call it hypocritical, but that's how I see it now.

  • @ksthomas Davey was definetly a great driver. If he was still alive and racing today, he'd be a multiple-time champ. This was an era of MANY GREAT drivers. The Allisons, Dale Earnhardt Sr., Mark Martin, Morgan Sheaperd, Alan Kulwicki, Bill Elliott, and others. You'll never see great drivers like that again. The only TRUE talent that's left really is Jeff Gordon. Mark Martin, he's starting to get screwed. Kyle Busch, ugh. Jimmie Johnson, hell no. Tony Stewart, eh okay, rough year though.

  • all these years later and I still love watching this video of Davey winning this race...

  • @Crisgo3d I met Davey in 1985. What a really nice guy he was. I got the chance to own and drive a ministock on a dirt track in N.C. in 1990,91,92,and 93. My car # of choice and favorite driver, 28 and Davey. I lost all interest in driving when Davey left us. I finished the year 3rd in points and left the sport. I built more cars for other owner/drivers after that but I miss watching Davey and all of the other REAL DRIVERS. I miss racing myself, but I have great memories of it & my hero Davey.

  • Listen to the sound of those cars! I miss that sound.

  • Now this is how the Daytona 500 should end every year! All these youtube videos of 90's Daytona 500 finishes are so enjoyable to watch, they aren't cheap finishes like the last 6 500's have been. The last time that a legitiamte green flag run ended the 500 was in 2004....every other year, (besides 2006 when Johnson dominated) it's been just a random toss up. Shame on Nascar!

  • @HMPstaff No question. I often wonder if Allison had gone on to win races and perhaps some Championships would Robert Yates racing still exist fielding winning cars? RCR still exists because of the success with Earnhardt. I know Yates had success with Jarrett but I think Yates would have been up there with the bigger teams and would have stayed there if Allison had won alot and was still alive.

  • @Crisgo3d I think Allison would of won alot of races and a championship or two if he didn't die he was really starting to become very good in that 92 season and I think he would of been a force in future years

  • Davey Allison is the reason I am a NASCAR fan.

  • @Crisgo3d He was the best of them
