This project aims to make consumer food choices easier and simpler, by negotiating issues of ethics, food miles and animal welfare, and balancing them with the demands of nutrition, budget, location and time.

My solution is Eat Right: a web-based service to help people eat sustainably. It includes a healthy, ethical, seasonal meal planner, which can be tailored to fit any user's local area and budget. Users can submit their own seasonal recipes, and through workshops, share them with the local community. Volunteers can register to 'pick up extra' -- a shopping service for an elderly neighbour. Shops can submit products to Eat Right, and receive a sustainable star rating from their local community. Food growers and allotment owners can distribute surplus crops through the website.
