"well we're exactly where we started minus 60 bucks." justin sighs. we're back to our tree in the woods now.
"ik." i slump against our tree. "do u have any idea what time it could be?" i ask. he looks up at the sky, where the sun is set.
"it's september. the suns about one or two thirds set. id say about 5:00 5:30ish."
"impressive. well its been a long day. think we should crash early?"
"well early to go to sleep early to wake up."
"i honestly dont care. all ik is that im cold, tired, hungry, really want a shower, and a little thirsty. since the only issue i can attend to right now is tired, i think im gonna sleep."
"ok, ok, to sleep we go then."
i sigh. "ya ya." i lye down on the ground under the tree and rest my head on the trunk. "this isnt comfortable. come down here."
he laughs and sits down next to me. like the night before, i use his shoulder as my comforting pillow. he rests his head on mine and stared into the distance.
"dont u forget to sleep." i say sternly.
"il sleep. eventually. its 5:30, im not used to sleeping this early."
"fine fine. fair enough. but seriosuly, eventually, sleep."
"ok ok i promise." he sighs.
"okay." i smile and close my eyes. it doesnt take long for a sleepy haze to envelope my mind and for me to invite it in and let it consume me. i remember waking up once in the dead of night. justin had fallen asleep and it was eerily silent. but wait. maybe its not. i hear a faint something. maybe footsteps? in the distance? whatever. i fall back asleep without giving it a second thought. why should i? the next morning i randomly wake up to find justin up as well.
"bre, ur never gonna believe this." he says, shaking his head.
"what?" i ask hesitnatly.
"look." he nods his head to an area next to me. i nervously glance over to find...
"wh- who? how? what?"
"i have no idea. it could be a trick from jamie. maybe its poisoned." its a bag of potato chips and a grocery bag of apples galore. theres also a couple bottled waters and a liter of soda. i think of the soft footsteps i had woken up to earlier.
"i think its safe. but just to be sure... u check." i say.
"what?!"
"idk, just.. smell it. see if it seems, like, poisoned or not."
he slowly walks towards the stuff like its a bomb ready to ignite.
"oh please!" i rip open the bag of chips and take one out. i hold it away from my face a little bit and wave my hand inbetween the chip and my face, safely wafting the scent to my nose, like how they do it on the crime shows. it seems fine. i lick my finger. appetizingly salty. "i think its fine." i say and pop the chip into my mouth. he glances at me nervously, like any second im just gonna drop dead. i dont of course. "dude, its seriously fine. here." i hand him the chips and reach for a water. the cap has never been opened so i open it and take a long swig, practically downing two thirds of the bottle. i hand the rest of that to justin too.
"well u sure seem confident." he notes.
"kid, im starving. im parched, and all of a sudden out of the blue, bam! food! water! soda! im happy right now."
"true i guess."
we pretty much finish the whole bag of chips and all three water bottles in one day. we had to make a stop at the public restrooms at one point. my fault foor drinking so fast. we mostly stay in the woods though, guarding ur food like an animal would.
"its getting late. wanna get to sleep?" he suggests.
"ya. is wats left of the food gonna be ok?" i ponder.
"well we can do our best to hide it, stick it in a tree, but animals might snatch it."
"ya. i wish i knew who put it all there."
"ik. me 2."
"well goodnight." i say, settling in.
"night." he drapes his sweatshirt over me.
"oh, r u sure?its gotta be like 40 degrees out here."
"i'll be fine." he smiles and puts his arm around my shoulders.
"thanks. i love u."
"i love u too."
i close my eyes and smile contently.

yay! some nice person gave them stuff! but who? hmm... well i guess ul just have to find out! and sorry for the wait i was forced to go to a movie i really didnt want to see with someone i really didnt want to go with... long story. but anyways... part 32 up monday!
