My Tribute To Benny Neyman - Dave Williams

This is my tribute to Dutch singer Benny Neyman, who sadly passed away, 7th February 2008, aged 56. He was my favourite singer from Holland. I had the pleasure of meeting Benny at two of his concerts, he was such a nice guy. He has been an inspiration to me ever since. Some years ago I worked on an English translation of this song. I hope you like my version. Rest in peace, Benny. Long may we whisper your name, long may we hear your voice.

You did really a great job with this first english version i ever heard.BRAVO,what can i say more... ;-)

by the way,i never will be sing "my way" at karaoke,it was the last song for my brother,passed away january 2007...

Benny did actually record an english version of this song back in 1987. His version was called "Please Why Do You Obsess Me". The spirit of the song was the same, but Benny's english lyrics were substantially different to his original Dutch song. As far as I am aware, it was only ever released on a CNR compilation album, called "Romantic Songs For Lovers-Vol 4" (CNR CD 100.061)

For my version, I tried to stay as close as possible to Benny's original Dutch lyrics.

Thank you so much for your tribute Benny is very famouse in Holland and we still miss him very much and his songs my mother and i loved his song but my mothere died and still i get the straight to fith on in this live we willl never forget Benny thanks al loot lots off love from Holland Sylvia
