I've worked with a number of XLV's converted to e-power and unless 900rpm was maintained on the head, the tail rotor authority was horrible, unless 180mm tail blades were installed. The mushy tail isn't unflyable but a stiff cross wind can easily overpower the weak tail thrust. What's your setup like to fly, tail-wise? Thanks.

Can you provide me with some add'l data so I can calulate some things on your heli? If you know the final ratio (better yet, give me all the pulley and gear teeth counts) and the overall weight of the heli. The reason I ask is my calculations got me to within 25rpm of your rotoe speed but the amp draw came out to a very hot 50a. Is it running on the hot side after those long flights?

Yeah I am familiar. It won't cost me that much. Ha. I will be content to just enjoy yours. For the record...I never asked prices. Ha. I am working within a 750-800 size design now which is good for my needs. Post more of this one if you get time. Thanks.

I stand corrected, you may be pulling 850-950rpm's.
Wow, I 'm getting pretty good at this stuff. I didn;t know the load (wattage and drag of the big blades) and I didn;t now the gear ratio. So I estimated. The final was 850rpm but I thought I must be wrong. VERY COOL. I love it too. It's just that money thing, ya know? Maybe whe sel that nice custom biike I just finished...Keep them videos coming...especially this (quiet) big bird.

That's what others have said also about the HC. I don't do the radical flying but some aspects of GyroBot 900 seem nice. Anyone in your area tried it? Two gyros mixed? Nice flight time for that size heli. You must be ready for a break by then. Dont' know enough to calulate things but it seems you are pullng about 1100-1200rpm. Sounds great.

@HardlyDidHerSome The Gyrobot is ok. HC is just the simpliest to configure.
I'm pulling 820 rpm. 15 minutes on that big lazy bird is enough. But the presence is the sky is awesome. Also the sound is very realistic or atleast pleasing. Everybody loves it!

What kva rating is the motor and what rotor rpm you think your running? Yeah, I was thinking the electric would be overall better once you get setup with the batteries, charger and power supply. Al so does that helicommand do a decent job of positioning? I know it does great 3-axis but I thought I rememebre soething about limitations to altitude. I bet it does fly better FBL. More power and more sure. Really respectable chopper.

@HardlyDidHerSome Motor is about 275KV. It's an Actro 60-275 motor. I have 12s2p battery setup or 50Volts 10Ah. I charge the batteries with two Bantam 8DX charger. I have two sets. I can fly safely 15 minutes with one pack. HC is not that good for positioning. I newer use it for that. I just use it for flybarless. I have also a Futaba GY520 gyro onboard. ESC is a Kontronik PowerJive 120HV.
