  • BIG shoes to fill! Great job Scott! ~

  • In the near future we will be without any original connection to the Beach Boys so let's applaud the guys for giving us this at least. We have to be glad a few members are still alive.

  • I saw them in Penticton last year. The best night of my life. The guy who sang Brian's part on this song was flawless. It was amazing! Not sure if it was Scott or not. Probably not. Any information?

  • Not bad. How could anyone compare to Brian's sweet original version? Probably one his best vocal recordings. I sure wish he could still sound the way he did when he was a young man. At least we still have the recordings.

  • Really nice Scott!

  • Yes I don't like using the phrase "weird stuff" but was just saying it to illustrate the point....I was maybe thinking about "She's going Bald" "Mount Vernon" "Little Pad" and other drug enhanced gems (Brian's own admission)

So I was just saying Mike preferred the more in your face "Little Deuce Coup" etc and we should respect him for that.

  • That's okay :-) I like your civil and amiable manner. It's greatly appreciated. As far GC, I just mean Glenn filled in for BW when he left the road initially back in 64/5 and Scott (although I've never hesrd him play anything else) does justice to the guitar licks, has asense of harmony. Brian's recording is a classic no doubt, but was done in a studio with the opportunity for double-tracking, etc. Can't double track in concert. Thanks and GV's to you. JHP

  • Sorry, BeachBoysGuy1, but we're going to have to agree to disagree. I love Glenn Campbell, and Scott is no Glenn Campbell. But it's not just Scott, it's the whole shebang. This version, to me at least, is unlistenable. But if you enjoy it, that's great. There's something for everybody on YouTube.

  • I agree about the name

  • No !!! Scott is no "hack" That's not fair. You're comparing Brian's singing in a controlled studio environment to Scott and the whole tribute group doing a vey nice job live on stage, where falsetto singing is much more difficult. I think Scott's effort ranks up there with Glenn Campbell !!

  • Ok i agree, but what was the "weird" stuff ? Just because everything BW wanted to create wasn't aimed at being a Top 40 # 1, doesn't make it "weird". I love I Get Around, but I also like My Solution

  • EXCELLENT !!!! GREAT JOB SCOTT!!!! Nice harmonies. Always loved this song !
