I love this number and so did Mel Brooks. He borrowed the whole set up with the sing-talking interplay etc. in his movie History of the World Part II for the 'Spanish Inquisition' scene. A

Van Johnson was no singer & Bobby Troup, composer of "Route 66" was wasted in this scene. Hollywood missed lots of talent in the big band era.
