good playing!!
-
they're spaced unevenly so the instrument isnt chromatic, they play like the white keys on a piano i believe.
-
what an interesting instrument, i never noticed before now that dulcimer frets aren't evenly spaced like on the guitar or banjo.

The way your are talking about is in Dm, you are basicly doing what dulcimerhawaii said without retuning. But, the C# on 6 1/2 is not used, but the natural C on 6 is used. It is an octave up from the DAC tuning, you also can do this with a 1 and 1/2 fret withou retuning, because the 1.5 on the middle string is a C that you need, same rule applies to the 8.5 fret. This can be played in Dm without retuning also.

I'm impressed! You can play "Shady Grove" with out a capo, just use the C-A-D tuning. I been listeing to your videos...great playing and great sounding dulcimer!!

Thanks for watching, glad you liked it! I found a weird way to play Shady Grove a while back that uses D-A-dd tuning, what I do is just play it starting at the 7 fret, and use the 6 1/2 for those extra notes you need for the song. Thanks once again for watching!
