@torawfordiz a cover letter explains to the person u r sending ur press kit to, who u are, what ur band sounds like, and what you want to see out of sending this press kit. i also include stats on attendance at prior shows, and following in the area. then you close repeating the main reason for the press kit being sent and supply ur contact info. this part is crucial in grabbing the attention of the reader to actually look at ur press kit. btw i am not associated w/ this video. its not good

you're missing several items and your folder type is horrible looking. If i got that in the mail, it screams home made indie crap. Tip for viewers. invest in good folders or make your own. you can get some nice products from an office supply store in the report folder section. or you can print your own if you can do some folding and glueing. Physical press kits are dying out but several large festivals require them, as do small ma'pa venues.
