Helplessly, I stood stiff as a statue, wondering how the hell I got into this mess. The decomposing bishop positioned himself in front of me, then made a small indication to someone, and then out of nowhere, an organ began to play a haunting melody.

Traditionally, I should be walking up the aisle, but as I turned my head, I caught a glimpse of a man setting foot on to the black carpet. The wedding guests bowed their head in respect as this mysterious man walked past. Initially, the mist and darkness obscured his face from me, but with each step he became clearer.

The first feature that grabbed me was his eyes; huge golden pools that hid beneath dark lashes and rogue strands of black hair. He was gorgeous, the kind of beauty that was capture in classical sculptures. He had strong features that were beautifully arranged in a way that did not seem too pretty or too hard. This man was the most perfect being I have ever seen.

Mesmerized, I watched him walk towards me, unable to break eye contact. When he was nothing more than a few feet from where I stood, I managed to recapture my senses and break my stare. Quickly, I focused my attention onto the moulding bishop's hat in a desparate attempt to stop me gawping. It was so hard because I knew the man was standing next to me, he was literally centimetres away. Awkwardly, I shifted, trying to concentrate on the bishop's incoherent mumblings. The bishop paused and the man replied in a silky voice that sounded musical. Fighting the urge to be swept away by this tall, dark and handsome stranger, I redirected my gaze to the bishop's tattered hat. For some reason, all I could think about was not embarrassing myself in front of this attractive stranger.

'Please don't be embarrassed,' a voice spoke softly in my mind. 'I will do everything in my power to make you happy,' the voice told me. 'You are mine and I am yours. We can now talk to one another through a simple though.'

'GET OUT OF MY MIND!' I mentally screamed at him.

'Darling heart, please don't be like this, you're upsetting yourself.'

I felt his hand brush against mine as a small gesture of comfort. My body strongly reacted to his touch; my heart pounded, my stomach fluttered and my head went fuzzy.

The bishop snapped his book shut. "You may now kiss the bride," he announced. The crowd burst out into applause, and I turned towards my husband and stared up into his face, full of attraction, mingled with fear.

'You'll never be alone, I shall cherish you forever,' his words echoed in my head.

As he leaned forward, wrapping his arms around me, pulling me into his frame, he gently kissed me, brushing his lips tenderly across mine. Then he embraced me tightly, nuzzling my neck.

"Please forgive me," he told me, as I felt his teeth sink into my neck.
