In what will probably go down as my most controversial video ever, I expound on my views of BET, call for a community outcry and sing a few bars of a protest ditty I made up on the fly. I agree with you. It should be called Black Exploitation Television. I can't stand BET. The problem is that it's a corporation and once you go corporate you cannot be critical. The bottom line always wins out. I'm sure that the majority watching aren't black anyway. The worst part is it paints the black community as a monolithic group. I really hate the packaging of "blackness". It annoys me to no end! The black community is dynamic. Their legacy is survival through spirituality & innovation.

I agree and of course TVOne did that,they are doing what BET should be doing and I hate BET and and it stand for and the fact that they allow McDonald to show stereotypical ads on their channel showing black people eating fried chicken and having them dance around as if going to McDonald,

And they never do anything during Black History Month, which upsets me because it being a channel for African Americans you would think they would be the first to wait till the first day of February

dont get me wrong bet has made alot of accomplishments over the years but its not the same as it was back when i was younger. i really figured it out when the dnc was going on and there was no coverage being shown. i thought it was a bad move on bet...

u know i kind of felt the same way when i noticed the democratic convention was going on.. it's sad to say that when history was being made bet wasnt being supportive of that i didnt see any type of coverage or anything concerning the dnc.. all these other channels even tv one canceled scheduled programming just to show this history of an african american man being nominated for president of these united states of america.. and what this guy is saying was what my husband and i been tlking abt..
