Bill wallace said it right. Why a cane, because you can legally take a cane anywhere in public. When was the last time you can legally take a sword, nunchuks, tonfas and staffs outside in public?
This is a pretty good video because it's close to what happens on the street and what the reaction whould be with a cane. This type of training is very good also to get close to what one can expect in a real situation.
I use a cane out of necessity to get around and this would be a good skill to have. Some punks see a person with a cane as an easy target. I'm 45 years old 6' 2" and 300 lbs but the cane gives some potential attackers bad ideas.
Does anybody know what thes sticks are made of? They look like exercise equipment, but I would like to know hiw shock resistent they are, what the cost, etc.
the person (not the big guy) in the dvd looks like ron baliki, if it is then he knows his stuff as he was taught by dan inosanto and is married to his daughter! and why would you use a punch or kick if you have a large weapon in your hand, wake up!!!

I like how the younger guy is totally capitalizing on the nature of a cane where as the older guy is basically using it as a sword.
