The gentlemen filming, as well as the men who have taken pictures should have all been placed under arrest. Why? you ask. Well....under the Security Police Officers arrest authority 161K Atomic Energy Act: 10 CFR 1047.4 (C) Section 230. Photographing, etc., of Commission (DOE) Installations—42 U.S.C. 2278.b.
Any ignorant right exercising retards care to look up the facts for themselves go ahead. This case is closed. Thank you.

So according to this cop, If I take a tourist photo of a building and put it on flickr... a terrorist might get it and send it to his terrorist group, and they can use it to plot a terrorist attack... so basically we can't photograph anything cause terrorists might use it.... LOL

I am a civil libertarian, I believe in our Constitution and all our Rights. But you don't have the right to endanger other people. I hate when morons who've never read the entire document and the generations of Supreme Court rulings and spout off UNINFORMED. And NO, DOE Police are NOT part of Homeland Security, and the laws protecting DOE facilities and nuclear secrets predate 9-11 by more than 45 years. You're just a punk trying to promote yourself at others' expense.

Wow, you guys (photographers) were just being dickheads for the sake of being dickheads!! The security guys were trying to be nice, especially the first guy; they were just doing their jobs. How would you like it if I took your pictures and posted them on here and told people where you lived and you had something worth stealing? What if I did things to make YOU a target? How would you feel? You weren't innocently taking picture of your vacation, you were trying to pick a fight for what? Dicks.

@PDFPUNISHER Another puppet taking freedoms away from citizens? Have you ever read Benjamin Franklin's quote on freedom? By the way, he was a lot brighter than you are! L0L
-
Why should we lose our freedoms due to 9/11? If terrorists are going to attack us again, then they're going to attack us no matter what we do.
-
I am so sad and frustrated by officers who don't know the law.
-
If they could've been arrested they would've been arrested, a cop is just gonna let someone commit a crime in front of them and walk? Common sense people, start asking educated questions
-
actually he could have been arrested by the officer after 9/11!!!! these liberals have a big mouth hey buddy you have to provide ID if not yes you can be arrested for it! and NO law enforcement officer from a federal agency DOES NOT have to tell you who he works for!

Why do people feel the right to push the envelope that guy was being really cool about everything and asked them not to take his photo and they did it anyway. Why? Oh yea that's right its your right to take peoples picture when they ask you not to. Some people need to get a life.

@novapj If you think those officers look mentally challenged, I'd love to see what you look like. Idiot.
Why would anyone be arrested for trespassing when they are standing or walking on a public sidewalk? Not that proximity should matter, but we were only a few blocks from the "Bill of Rights." We would be happy to take our "ignorant asses" to a Department of Energy Weapons facility. If there is a public sidewalk nearby I would expect to be left alone...so far as I know the US Constitution is in full force despite the efforts of folks that appear to share your world-view.
