Browning Hi-Power 9mm: Hand-Gun Review

The Browning Hi-Power was John Browning's last hand-gun design (initiated by Browning and completed after his death by Dieudonné Saive), but it's value doesn't just come from it's collectibility. The classic good looks and innovative design are where it starts, but the outstanding track record of this firearm is what makes it really interesting. Police forces and armies around the world have, and do employ this firearm in all situations and conditions. It has been present in more wars and conflicts than I can name. Collectors recognize it's worth - but more importantly, so do operators in the field. Chambered in 9mm, and carrying 13+1 rounds in it's double-stacked magazine, the Hi-Power (aka P35, GAP, HP, Grande Puissance, etc.), made by FN Herstal of Belgium, is a world renowned classic with real American roots.

Was lucky enough to shoot my dad's before the UK gun laws took hold. Damn it was a nice pistol. Pity he had to surrender it !

I don't know if it's been said but...

This gun will fit MOST 1911 holsters.

After reading online, I went to my local Gun shop and found a 1911 holster that fit PERFECT.

Most shops don't carry an HP holster, so try a 1911 if you don't want to order online and wait for shipping!

Other than that this gun is AWESOME.

I LOVE the way it feels and shoots.

Would recommend to anyone.

Oh yeah, the trigger pull is much sweeter with the mag disconnect removed. I have used several types of hollow tips, but rely on golden sabres, it seems that they have more of a rounded edge to them, less prone to jamming

Ok, first of all, a 9mm golden sabre will expand to .60 cal. Plenty to get the job done. Also, many of us american citizens would consider canada as "americas hat", but most of them don't realize the history of canadas military contrfibutions. the boys on the ground are the boys on the ground. Props. I own a hi power, and have had nothing but great reliability and accuracy from it. A wonderful gun. Also hogue and pachymar make great grips for it
