When we conduct a pilgrimage to Karbala, is this journey merely a ritual? When we began our journey to Karbala, we tried to understand ..... What is Karbala? What it stands for? What it teaches?

- Karbala teaches perseverance against tyranny, oppression, & injustices
- Karbala pledges one to Imam Hussain, Imam Ali, & Prophet Mohammad (A.S)
- Karbala symbolizes clash between the virtuous and the wicked
- Karbala gives us hope for shifaya (intercession) from Ahle Bait (AS)
- The biggest lesson from Karbala is "To Live like Ali & to die like Hussain"

Is it safe to travel Iraq these days? I am afraid of the presence of invaders and crusaders there who are occupying Iraq. Killing people randomly. I want to visit Iraq. Just waiting for the good time when there will be peace in Iraq and it will become free, independent and sovereign country for once again.

Brother, we had a very safe journey with children, men and women from 15 months' old to 67 years old fellows. Our other friends are travelling in mid-December 2011. Yet, a tragedy can strike anywhere in the world. But what could be a better ending of one's life than in Karbala or Najaf?

PS. We were advised not to stay overnight in Samerra.
