@jtmonn And another thing. Every 250R I've raced against that had the regular 249CC engine I have smoked in drag races. I can even smoke my buddies DRZ 400-S in a drag race up until I top out, and even then it takes him a few seconds to catch up and pass me. @greatplanesman alright there are 250r's that still run motor haven't been touched .Look at some of kaw ah suckies other wheelers the front suspension must of wieghed 400lb.s they had to make a good machine to stay in the market.You get your one good year in.The reason they're so rare is #1 could you handle the power on a machine that tall and not flip? We paid good money for our machine and back in the 80's the brain box would go out in the first year $400 new I owned my 1st one at 16yrs old.
