Nature's beauty...our snake Lara, shedding her skin and then revealing a bright new look.
It took about 8 minutes to remove the old skin with her twisting and turning making the job easier.
She even put pressure herself over her body to help the process along.
This species is a Woma Python and can grow up to 2.3 metres in length.
Seen in open forest and Brigalow communities.
Non-venomous and a reluctant biter.
In the wild they feed on...lizards, snakes and mammals. Have been known to take birds as well.
Lay up to 28 eggs per clutch and are active both day and night.
Hopefully soon Lara will be breeding with her mate Leo, who is housed in the enclosure above her.
