MUCINOUS CYSTADENOMA OF THE PANCREAS FNA CHRISTOS KARALIS MD.wmv

Cystic neoplasm of the pancreas is a relatively uncommon condition covering a wide spectrum of pathology. Although a minority of pancreatic cystic tumors are neoplastic, proper diagnosis of these neoplasms is important owing to their varied clinical course and behavior. The clinicopathologic features of pancreatic cystic neoplasms, include mucinous cystic neoplasms, intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms, solid pseudopapillary tumors, and serous microcystic adenomas. The increasing incidence as a result of routine imaging tests in asymptomatic patients presents a diagnostic and therapeutic problem to the clinician. The following video is from an 85 years old male with incidental finding on a C/T scan a cystic lesion in the ancinate process of the pancreas. The patient had the CT abdomen done in the setting of staging of a colon cancer found on a routine colonoscopy.

Τα πρωτοπαθή κυστικά νεοπλάσματα του παγκρέατος είναι όγκοι της εξωκρινούς μοίρας του παγκρέατος, συνήθως καλοήθεις. Πρόκειται για κυστικούς σχηματισμούς, που πιθανώς σχηματίζονται από τα κύτταρα των εκκριτικών πόρων και των κεντρολοβιακών κυττάρων του παγκρέατος.
Οι κυριότεροι ιστολογικοί τύποι των κυστικών νεοπλασμάτων του παγκρέατος είναι:
Α) Ορώδες κυσταδένωμα ή μικροκυστικό
Β) Βλεννώδες κυσταδένωμα ή μακροκυστικό κυσταδένωμα ή κυσταδενοκαρκίνωμα (MCN) και
Γ) Eνδοπορικό θηλώδες βλεννώδες νεόπλασμα (IPMN)
Το βίντεο που ακολουθεί είναι από ασθενή 85 ετών o οποίos έκανε μία αξονική τομογραφία τομογραφία κοιλίας στα πλαίσια σταδιοποίησης καρκίνου του παχέος εντέρου στην οποίαν ανευρέθη κυστικό μόρφωμα στην αγκιστροειδούς απόφυσης του παγκρέατος.
