  • Na bro. It's totally possible to deadlift over 600 lbs without using your lower back at all.

Seriously where the hell do you get this bs?

  • yea... it says hook grip quite clearly in the title. chill

  • @sneakerfresh9 thanx, i'll try it tomorrow. i do get a lot of callouses.

  • @secutorclaudius the index and middle finger should wrap around the top half of the thumb when u wrap the thumb around the bar. if you are trying wrap ur two fingers around ur whole thumb that is incorrect. and yeah, always grip as hard as you can from the beginning and end of the lift. ive found that by using the hook grip for a couple of months instead of mixed grip, little or no callous formed compared to the mixed grip which is a good thing imo. try to google image "hook grip"

  • @sneakerfresh9 regular gym 45 lb bar. and i don't know if i'm gripping it right. i try to wrap my thumb as tight as i can, then wrap my first 2 fingers over it. still, feels weird. thanx for the quick response!

  • @secutorclaudius how thick is the bar u are using? and r u gripping the thumbs correctly? and yeah, dont use straps, u shouldtnt be lifting anything you cant hold imo.

  • @sneakerfresh9 thanx. i'm trying hook grip, but can't quite get my fingers over my thumb. i'm 5'10", average hgt and hands i guess . don't wanna use straps.

  • @secutorclaudius hook grip is argumently the strongest grip. mixed grip second. it takes time getting used to the hook grip at first. especially on the thumbs. but once you get used to it, it will help alot.

  • that was excellence my friend. very inspiring. double overhand is no joke.

  • first, nice! second, what do u mean by "without using your back at all"? third, never tried hook grip, does it help a lot?

  • badass pull

  • Double overhand, hook, straps, suit, wraps, belt, raw, belt, ... who gives a shit? The dude just pulled over 600#. If you can do better, with either grip or gear, post a video or STFU!
