  • WOW, that is a really retarded and narrow point of view. Just cause your life sucks, that means everyones should? Some people get minimum wage to work...so I guess by your logic, you should too? It sounds like your speaking from jealousy instead of from logic and being informed. And who are you to be claiming someone "wants something for nothing?" The retirees, who built AT&T into what it is today, before the current CEO was even born, are OWED all the healthcare they can get!!! FOR FREE!!

  • Are you kidding? Where do you think the money that AT&T will save from making the workers (WHO BUILT THE COMPANY) pay for their healthcare will go...pass the saving along to the customers, give to a charity, stop global warming? HELL NO....it is going in the top 1% of the upper managements pockets! That way they can buy another $100K luxury car or another million dollar house to add to the 20 they already own! Tell me your not that foolish.

  • You ought to be a prem tech here in Alabama. We are lower than scum to them. Pay us 9-11$ per hour. Then fire us for bad equipment. No future in this job.

  • The better the contract for Union members, the more benefits to you as a manager, Idiot.

  • since you are a prem tech you are just getting you feet wet young fish so take a step back on your lil tirade against my union. we been fighting 4 years to achieve things and u new prems are gonna b taken care of. Show some respect cuz if it wasnt for us u wouldnt even get what little you do get. And that attitude better be different when i come to hang that uverse drop 4 you since you cant get off tha ground.. .. so lil fish id STFU and stand by the union or go work at walmart..

  • Wow, really? That's the best you can do?

Explain non-union member at&t employees and contractors that pay for their healthcare? These are the innovators, the one's that create positions for union members yet they pay their way.

    Seriously, entitlement is so childish.

  • If the CEO can get 300,000 shares of stock at no cost, At&t can pay for its employees health care.

  • You know whats sick...listening to a bunch of people whine and complain about having to pay for health insurance. Grow up.

  • I'm not sure where you think the money came from to start services such as Uverse and to buy other companies to build a strong network for Mobility. It all came from those who have put in time to build up AT&T to the level its currently able to adapt on. Let them take health care from us they will come to take something from UVerse employees and Mobility employees when something better comes along. The time is now to support one another. Divide and Conquer is what the company anticipates.

  • NOT ONE DAMN WORD about UVERSe and MOBILITY. UVERSE workers IS WHAT AT&T IS not Plain phone service. And all the RICH overpaid IBEW and CWA can yell is healthcare? YOU ARE NOT WORRIED about UVERSE techs making 1 DOLLAR over minimum wage starting? being told they cannot go home till all work is done. Not knowing when youre going home or Having off days taken away? NO evening differential? NO pension? yet we pay FULL union dues And you people DONT EVEN STRIKE FOR US!?!?

  • I have a hard time hearing that non-union workers have to pay for health care while union doesn't. Don't you understand that free health care should be a right given to each and every American. It shouldn't be a luxury for a select few. I believe you along with everyone would realize the great opportunity we all have here to get this to happen.

  • I read your post and feel u are very much misinformed. The CWA is not bargaining from a position where we are asking for more. We are only asking to sustain what we have and receive modest cost of living wage increases (see Verizon deal) and job security language from a company 13 billion in the black for 2008 after paying for every expense including 33 plus million to it's top 5 operating officer's. .

  • Dear Mr. Alexander Graham Bell: Since you are no longer an active employee of the company that your invention created...We the "new" management of the Company have decided that you must resort to VooDoo and Witch Doctors for all your Meds and Medical needs. PS: thank you for your wonderful invention--now please just go away quietly..............hmmmm???? Is this how the "new" AT&T wants to repay those whose ingenuity and innovation helped give them such a giant company to manage today? hmmm?

  • One would have to work 455 years at 50K per year to earn what the at&t CEO made in 2007! Critical decisions like laying off 12,000 workers in this economy? With a NET 12.9 Billion profit, trust, me at&t can look elsewhere for cutting costs. Not on the backs of the retirees who built the company. "There is no such thing as a minor lapse of integrity." at&t prides itself in its' reputation for ingenuity and innovation. Let us hope that "integrity" becomes a point of pride for at&t.

  • Hi folks-I hear you LOUD AND CLEAR. I was CWA 9503 until Nov 2002 when I accepted ERB on a 4+4. I had been offered ERB 3 times prior to my 26 and each time, I carefully asked "does this include medical?" and at 25 and 6mos-"NO"..... at 25 and 9 mos-"NO"... at 25 & 11 mos-"NO"..... finally at 26+ I said "YES"... and I signed. NOW they want to go back on the very "CONTRACTED AGREEMENT" I signed with the Medical Included stipulation? How big of a class action might that be for how many ERB yes's

  • Look, Ive been with a union before and we could never get rid of lazy bums who deserved to be fired...I am not diminishing the hard work you put into your role, but having guaranteed jobs, 100% healthcare for an active employee AND retirees - thats called a big fat expense that also hurts the other non-union guys at ATT. I hope you get what you are looking for unfortunately I cant support you on this one. No one's job is that critical that it should be guaranteed - use Chrysler as an example.

  • Stand Strong. Solidarity forever!

  • How dare you say that our jobs are not as critical as theirs. We union memebers are the working force that delivers the products to our customers. Without us, they are not there! All of us should be working as a TEAM! All for ONE and One for ALL!

  • Please - if you had common sense you would understand at their levels they make critical decisions and thus are compensated for those decisions. I dont understand why people bring salaries into play - the reality is your job is not as critical as theirs. And I have no issue with you paying for healthcare just like I am doing. that's the problem - everybody wants everything for nothing in return. All of america pays for healthcare, god forbid you do the same.

  • lets strike the bastards

  • that was painful
