I'm sorry, what is this Arkham Asylum and Arkham City you're talkin' about?
-
glad to see that there are still people who play the games instead of tas them
-
for an nes game the music sounds so heroic
-
One of my favourite games ever!
-
@StateCollapse that was sarcasm, StateCollapse. This game didn't resemble the movie in any way shape or form that it was based on.
-
@gluband Yeah, it's awesome!
-
The music and game fucking owns. Could just listen to the soundtrack all day and never getting tired of it.
-
gotta love how this game made you feel like you were playing the movie......
-
We used to have this game, but then we got rid of the NES to make room for the Gamecube. >:(

2nd level music sounds like teen titans intro
The music in this game was awesome...and its one of the few games on the NES that had sampled sounds used in the music. Notice that the drums are basically REALLY low quality sampled drum sounds.

Really...I never knew that! Thanks for sharing :) Now that I listen to it closely, it does sound like what you describe. I wonder why more developers did not do more with this kind of feature? Many games would have benefited greatly. Perhaps it was a resource issue.

Yeah, it takes more memory to hold samples of sounds, even if its just short samples like drums, and even if they are downsampled by a lot. I presume the samples in Batman are at some really low sample rate like less than 11.025khz but I am just guessing.

What you said does make sense, so I'm with you on the frequency being around 11Khz.
