  • Why is it spoken so fast and without feeling? Is it meant to go past the emotional mind and register only in the upper ranges which are far more pragmatic?

  • @L00kng : without feeling implies that you are aware of the state of that person who is reciting. Understanding is most important in what practices you are doing and the emotion can arise in various forms. If I was to think about what is being recited, than what happens is you become lost in the translation of it and through easing the intellect then one is able to go beyond the understanding.

It is a movement away from the intellect only once it has relinquished the desire to understand.

  • Namaste- why are you not shown in the video?

    Hridaya

  • I don't show myself in any videos I do as it is not about me and people tend to focus on what "is" in the video. So to avoid any distractions I simply show my hands which is more than enough. It is not important what I look like.

  • Namaste. You are blessed in giving Dharma to all so that all may understand. Om mani padme hum.

  • Sariputra was one of the Buddha's two chief disciples. Maka hannya haramita shingyo is dialogue between wisdom and perfect insight - a comparison of spiritual insight represented by Kannon and intellectual understanding or worldly wisdom represented by Sariputra.

  • Ever since I'd read The Heart Sutra, I'd wondered who Sariputra was...I'd never read that translation before though--there is more information there.

    Thanks for sharing.
