i cant stop laughing at Morris tapping Vernon's shoulder and looking the other way... VD was like "who the eff tapped me?"

@SariwangBata Ur an idiot True niner fans back whomever is under center dont confuse what you do on the weekends with the rest of us I aint sucking anything and I know Alex can win, hes been surrounded by mediocrity since Norv Turner and McCarthy left, as well as injuries NO QB would have made it this long with this organizations garbage the past few years I dont care who we signed Rodgers Brady or Manning they all would have been killed here, Alex at least finished the year ranked TOP 12

@jpl04002 Only awkward that hes stuck around so long given the garbage offensive systems and O line hes had to survive through lol!

I hope its important for people to realize that this may be the first coach thats able to develop players on offense since mariucci. Mike nolan and singletary weren't exactly offensive geniuses. As far as troy smith that is simply a case of teams not having game tape on him. Notice how his play was completely different in the second meeting against the rams. Moreover, you must put your quarterback in a position that will maximize there potential which the 49ers never did.

@SariwangBata talking about alex not troy. i see potential in alex.

@PrideComesB4theFall sorry but most people would expect a #1 drafted quarterback to cover all of which a good QB would go through every game in that pocket. same goes with david carr. we have 2 number one drafted qb's and had another hiesman winning qb as well and still did poorly compared to what people expected.it was our time to dominate the nfc west.whether it was singletary or what but all i know is that whatever is on alex's mind durring a game. must be crucial compared to his decisions.

@SariwangBata additionally, he has to know how many steps in his drop, the timing, and the route adjustments depending on the coverage. then he has to be able to relay that to the huddle so they understand, then get to the line, make his pre-snap coverage read, check for blitzes, call out any adjustments in protection (using the new language), check his passing lanes/escape lanes, then take the snap and read the defense again at NFL game speed.
Most people couldn't even take a snap from center.

@SariwangBata sure, he did have a lot of time overall - but the amount of reps with the rest of the offense in the offseason is limited. you also have to consider that every playbook used different verbage to call plays. it would be like having to take a biology class in a new language each year. every play call will include a term for the formation, strength, motion, # for the back/hole or the route combination, a tag for the 4th/5th receiver, protection, plus tags for any wrinkles.

ok ill have to admit. you are making sense right now, far more than any of the responses ive been receiving so far thats for sure. but i gotta say that alex had alot of time to transition from each playbook that were still not a huge difference that a qb would not be able to understand. he is not a bad guy, his decisions on the field i might say is not fitting his humble character that everyone loves so much.alex is good but needs a little time off the field to rejuvinate.
Alex is so painfully awkward...
