  • Not enough time? What stopping you from doing a part 3 or 4 or 5? I'd definitely watch.

  • We only tape about an hour at a time. Any more than that and we start getting crabby. There was just more stuff we wanted to get to during this taping. Especially our last rants which I'm sure we will get some more shit for. :)

  • I just decided to not bother seeing this movie. I'm drawing the line on Hollywood remakes. This is it. I'm done. I've seen all the previous Star Trek movies given more than enough of my life to this shit. Fuck Star Trek, fuck Abrams in the ass.

  • O_o

Didn't know you felt so strongly about the Hollywood remake machine Hammy. I am usually very very much against remakes but for some reason I really didn't mind it with Star Trek. Maybe it was because I felt that the franchise needed to do something new and that's exactly what this movie was.

  • I'm pretty sure I was mad about other things (mainly my own lack of ability to get what I supposedly want out of life) when I wrote that.

  • I hear that man. Perhaps you, like many of us, may need to partake in some sort of escapism... like maybe seeing the new Star Trek movie. :)

  • This movie was soooo overrated. It had its moments -- I didn't hate it -- but it could have been so much better.

  • I know I'm typing this months later but I just had to say that this movie was Trek 90210. Apparently Abrams didn't get the memo about Vulcans not displaying emotions. The scene with Spock and Uhura making out in the elevator was ridiculous. And why was Kirk abandoned on that ice planet? Why not simply throw him in the brig? And how unlikely was it that, on this entire planet, he just happens to land next to old Spock? Give me a freakin' break. And Nero was awful as a villain.

  • so'h!.... wheres the beef?

  • This movie is the first of any Star Trek tv show or movie I've ever seen and I must say it is a very enjoyable story. If this new movie reflects anything on the franchise, I enjoy that Trek has a lot of action, adventure, comedy, romance, emotion, and heartbreak that are all balanced so well. I loved the whole Spock internal battle with Vulcan logic and human emotion. Seeing Leonard Nemoy on Fringe then on Star Trek makes me want to see the old series now. He is so cool.

  • Yeah...This would have to be an alternate reality because in this one...25 years afer Kirk's time Romulus is destroyed but in Captain Picard's time maybe at least 50+ years later Romulus is very much a planet and the Romulins are so powerful that it takes both the Kingons & the Federation to challenge them. Anyone wonder why the Kingons weren't the enemies in this film? probably becuase in the last 15 years the kinglons have become so popular. What do you fellow posters think?

  • I agree with Eloit in that was awesome that the Kobiashi-Maru was reavealed to be made by Spock. This was mentioned in Star Trek 2 and in that film it was Spock who revealed to Kirstie Alley's Character that Kirk was commended for his work in it even though Kirk technically cheated. I hope they also later ret-con Spice William's tough lady character, and the 3 boobed cat creature kirk fought in a future new Star Trek movie. That would be great!!!!

  • I usually don't like Bad Robot stuff but this was great especially the effects. The part where the meet Scottie in the undersground was great tech. Don't want to offend anyone and I LOVE Star Wars but Lucas could learn something from this about just the right amount of tech & effects to show and how to do a prequel. Great movie reivew guys!!!

  • Cool, J. I'll be watching be out for it. Having enjoyed the movie a little more than I thought would, especially considering I was never a fan of the regular series or movies, I was just curious to see what else you guys had say about each not limited to more on their differences, similarities, and whatnot. Glad you guys atleast when a little deeper with your conversation than a mere cirtique. Great couple episodes.
