  • some of the lessons i've been watching pronounce the "s" at the end of the word with a regular hiss, like you did with "dois", and some pronounce it with a "shh" sound like "doish", is this just a regional difference?

  • @CALISUPERSPORT Yes. Each Brazilian state has its own accent. The accents throughout Brazil were influenced by the colonization characteristics of each part of the country. One example is the S. As you have noticed, when the S is the last letter of the syllable or the word, its sound varies. In Rio, they pronounce it “sh”. In São Paulo, it is a clear “s”. Both are perfectly correct. Choose what you like better or what your friends tend to say and stick with it :)
