Lol I actually like 3d Blast. Buy yeah, you opinion on this topic depends entirely on what year you were born. And you really haven't played them yet? Get Sonic Generations asap, it's amazing. Colors is good too, so you really should give it a try as well.

@dod127 In my opinion the Genesis games (minus 3D blast) were the gold standard of the series. They were the best I played. I thought they were miles better than SA and SA2 and Heroes. I haven't played colors and generations so I cannot speak about them.

@321cheeseman Some people loved this game, some people hated it. For the time it was a released I thought it was okay.  It was one of the first games of that generation so I was pretty forgiving for that reason. Yeah the cutscenes were horrible, but it's a Sonic game so I didn't play it for a plot. I put it around midpack in the order of the sonic games I've played from favorite to least favorite. Sonic 2.5D "Blast" is by far my least favorite. Sonic 3 and knuckles is my all time favorite.

@theodaman420 Exact opposite for me. I thought the game was great and I thought that people loved it, but then I replayed it a few months ago, and I thought it was all around just awful.

Sonic and E-102's stories are the ONLY parts I can somewhat enjoy, and even they are both marred by the slow and tedious hub worlds, the unwieldy camera, the omnipresent glitches, the poorly animated and acted cutscenes, etc.

@321cheeseman Granted I agree the camera if far from perfect. But people exaggerate how bad the gameplay mechanics are. They don't really make the game that much less fun. I played it for the first time in a while a few days ago (360 version) and I thought it was nowhere near as bad as people said it was. Actually my biggest disappointment with the game is the main story was so short.

Yes I have played it and never once did I die because of the camera.(Maybe I got lucky, lol) And some of the levels in Sonic Generations are relatively difficult if that's really what you want.

...Have you ever actually played the game?

I've played and beaten the Dreamcast version, the early Japanese Dreamcast version, the GameCube version, the PC version, and the OTHER PC version. They are ALL glitchy as hell, and they ALL have awful cameras.

Also, SA is far too easy. Really, I feel this way about most Sonic games. I WISH they were hard enough that I could suck at them and have to improve as a player to win.
