Sony HVR-Z7J : DigInfo

Sony announced its new lineup of HDVs for professional-use at InterBee 2007. The HVR-Z7J is an interchangeable-lens model that comes with a memory recording unit as standard equipment.

The HVR-Z7J comes with a Carl Zeiss lens that has a 12x optical zoom and a focal length of 32.0-384mm (35mm conversion for a 16:9 frame). This lens features auto focus and an optical image stabilizer compensation function and is interchangeable. The 8x wide angle lens, which is sold separately, has a focal length of 24.0-192mm (35mm film equivalent), which is suitable for wide angle shots.

The model supports the traditional HDV1080/60i and DVCAM/DV 480/60i recording modes as well as the HDV 1080/24p and 30p progressive modes

The attached memory recording unit can store HDV, DVCAM, and DV video files on compact flash cards.
