Artichokes

Artichokes. The very name sends convulsions through those that never tried them and those who haven't eaten them in a delicious way. I like Artichokes on Pizza and they're tasty mixed in with various other ingredients. They are the immature flower heads of a thistle plant which will bloom if not picked for consumption. I like thistles, so it's fun to be able to eat a variety of thistle. Artichokes originated in Europe and are now grown other places around the world. There are a variety of different types.

Hello ivmar1, you may be right about the Artichoke. I like eating the hearts though, so all that mess is already out of the way by the time I eat them. 8-)
