you're supposed to use the side of the bobby pin with the ridges in the hair. lol thats what keeps bobby pins in your hair, and creates a grip.

@QueenHilary Hair length is subjective to the person in question. My hair is not much longer than that of the woman in the video but to me, that length is medium as I have seen much, much longer hair.
