Rossini - L'assedio di Corinto - "Giusto Ciel!" - Sumi Jo

A coloratura soprano take on this aria...

Although not a big fan of Sumi Jo, I like her version of this aria. I don't know if it is the fluidity of her voice or the abundance of raw emotion in her interpretation...

About the score: As you can tell I am using pdf files for my videos and there is no way to transpose the pdf scores.. So, some of my videos may not be a match.

I hope you can figure out all those scribbles over the score.. Some do match the way Jo is singing and some don't. But this aria has such variation in interpretation that I doubt there can be a perfect-match edition of this score. Also, I do not have the choir partition.

why does everyone says that it is from l'assedio di corintho when it is originaly from Maometto Secondo ?

Whoever sings this aria makes a superb job out of it. Each and everyone in their own style and most of all expression of feeling.From Sills to Caballe and Sumi Jo to Bartoli... take your pick they are all just superb in their own way. But then this aria is SIMPLY SUPERB by its own accord!!

I am very pleasantly surprised with Sumi Jo's rendition of this aria. She gives it much more weight and substance than I would have expected.
