I can definately say that I never thought I would ever have the opportunity to see footage like this. I was born in 1985; so I just assumed that I would have to settle for the audios. Thank you very much! You don't know what this means to the fans.

Another example of the difference in tolerance between a musical on stage and one on film, where people would surely stop to ask for the nth time, "Why do they sing every five minutes?" By eliminating this in the film adaptation, we lose the comic and seductive genius of this bit of music. I saw a performance of this in 1983- Jennifer was phenomenal in this little scene.

I saw Jennifer Holliday's performance in DreamGirls in 1982 or 83 at the Bonniventure in Los Angeles. In my opinion, there will always be imitators. However, Jennifer Holliday's performance can never be duplicated. SHE was the best!!! It's a real shame that her career hasn't been given the attention it deserves.
