United Samoan Church Choir

After years of hard work and preparation, the Elder Dr. Ioane Mailo and the Samoan Congregational Christian Church of South Los Angeles dedicated their new sanctuary on Saturday, February 7, 2009. Dignitaries from both Samoas, New Zealand, and Australia attended the service and celebration. Among them were the Hon. Togiola Tulafono, Elder Rev. Masalosalo Sopoaga, Elder Rev. Leautulagi Faaleva, and Elder Tavita Roma. Also present were Congressman Eni Faleomavaega and reps of the UCC who assisted with a church loan. The new sanctuary, featuring a turtle-shaped ceiling and fale Samoa dome was designed by Samoan architect, Falanai Ala.
