you do not need firewire to do this. I just use an old capture card i found and it works fine. Just plug in the capture card, hook it up to the camera with the cable that allows you to view you're pictures or videos on the T.V. Then Download Manycam which is free, open it up, select your capture card, and voila. Works with Skype,Stickcam, U stream, Youtube, Yahoo, MSN, AIM, Tiny chat, ETC. Just make sure you're camera has an AV in port, and not an AV out.

how do i use my vivitar vivicam 9112 as a webcam for my windows vista? please help me i am dumb when it comes to this stuff. i intend on using to chat with with my facebook friends and start my own web show about anime and prowrestline and photoshop too. i know it is possible to use a camcorder as a webcam and i know its possibe to use a cannon so how do i use my vivitar vivicam 9112?

I'm using CANON GL2 as well, with windows you better go without fire wire, use Dazzle 100 and enoy streaming or recording,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
