  • No Marstons working there......

    Nice video

  • Cheers thx for watching

  • Gosh this takes me back, made me smile thanks. 5* Happy Xmas & New Year

  • Cheers and a MERRY CHRISTMAS & 2009 to you also

  • I once remember a driver who drove HST,S for BR telling me he was once in Scotland when blizzards and snow fall was bad and when he arrived at the station he the second man and the passengers could not leave the train due to all the door locks and windows been encased in ice and had to wait for platform staff to use blow touches to unfreeze the locks and doors so there is the tale. Luke.....

  • I have some old footage hidden away of a hst cab ride in Scotland in a blizzard and you cannot even see the tracks. Trains have been stopped down here for frozen points back in Nov.

  • And they say British Rail was a bad company. At least they kept the trains running, whatever mother nature would throw at them. Thats more than can be said for the bus companies, it snows 1 flake of snow and the service is cancelled completely! Great vid! Priceless 5* footage!

  • hsts are nice long live them

  • Valenta's oh the sound!!!

  • The best train ever built

  • great video :]

  • Must have been the RIGHT SNOW!!!!

  • What a festive and very nice video :D

  • Another thing I see is that one of the HST's predecessors, the Class 55 'Deltic' Royal Scots Grey is on hire hauling freight.

Like finding a equally famous horse pulling a coal cart.

  • A very dirty HST that is! That's stupid - a speed restriction of 70!!! I can't believe it! That's slower than a snail.

  • From what i remember, back in these days the HST windows were double glazed and the outer layer would often get broken by flying ballast or vandals.

But in those days the next station would be called and informed of the breakage and you would occasionally see the train crew knock out the remains of the broken glass leaving the inner glass safe and the train to continue it duty.

  • thats because their fleet of portapotties on wheels are 3rd rail electric!
