  • hey i have a vw passat 07 2.0 T and it soundsl ike i have the same problem i put a vid on my youtube channel but im not really sure what it is

  • you need to check the oil pump and then youre probably going to have to take the pistons out and check for wear and the crankshaft. we have this problem with our 2001 1.8t and we are in the process of taking out the crankshaft and replacing it. =( alot of work

  • I have A4 '98 1.8T with the same noise. It happend today after my friend's car died on the road and I've pulled him for about 15km. Did you repaired your car? What was it? Btw, I think my car is just 2 old... because my emergency lights did broke too in the process. Actually they overheated :P after 10 minutes they started working again.

  • Sounds like a rod knock :(

  • My car is/was making the same noise. I also have a 98 A4 1.8 T and it happened right when I changed my engine oil. I was thought it might be engine sludge blocking oil flow to the valve lifters. I flushed my engine twice to clean it out. This did help. After flushing my engine the first time, the noise oil happened below 2400 rpms, above that it sounds more or less normal. I put about another 250 miles on my car and now it won't start... any ideas?

  • what oil you r using?

    it is very clean "crankcase"

  • i have the same sound (ticking) on my audi 80 avant 95 167k on it :D
