Funny how times change- back then nobody would blink at a boy being named "Dickie", but today no one would DARE name their child that! Nowadays, if someone's name was Richard, the nickname would be Rich or Rick, etc., NEVER Dick!

I'm assuming the boy and girl were around 8-9 years old in this clip, which meant they lost their mother when they were in their late teens or right around 20. Their younger brother was 11 when Dorothy died.

There are pros and cons regarding any era. While it's good that kids were more polite back then, things like abuse and equality were very much ignored and brushed under the carpet. I'm glad some things have changed in today's world but I wish other things would make a comeback. If only we could pick and choose!
