While at the Hotel Del Coronado, I filmed this military plane landing over the crowded Coronado Beach on its way to North Island base. It was loud!! Learn more about Coronado at http://www.eCoronado.com.
I was married at Hotel Del Coronado. I was also stationed at NAS North Island. Saw a few C-17's, one or two C-5's, as well as the E-4B land there, but never from that direction, as the large aircraft usually came in on runway 36 from the west. Very cool video. I miss San Diego, and Coronado.
Well thats the price you have to pay for living in a free nation. By the way, if it was not for the Navy and North Island naval air station in Coronado, the town would be a lot less popular. The plane you saw was a C5. They rarely make landings at NI. NI has primarily CH 46 and SH 60 Helicopters and the now retired S3 viking anti sub aircraft.
I enjoy the planes coming in over the beach there.

@brucecny C-141'S were retired in 2006, and this video was posted in 2007. It is a C-5 Galaxy.
