Micha Patri and The Junk-Jazz Symphony celebrate the African roots of modern American jazz music, breathing new life into classics by legends including John Coltrane, Bob Marley and Stevie Wonder. With a bigger-than-life sound that you have to hear to believe, drummer divinus Micha Noor Patri and some of the top jazz musicians in the Bay Area deliver a musical experience described by devotees as "mythic." The mesmerizing hour and half show integrates yoga, dance, storytelling, improv, chanting, and mix of traditional instruments and everyday objects. Blind folds are available for audience members seeking a full-on auditory experience. The show builds to a big bang with the symphony's "junk finale" when musical objects, or junk instruments, are passed out to everyone in the house.
