Seen departing from Valletta´s fountain and then passing through Arriva´s brand new bus station on only the 2nd day that ATP buses in service drove with passengers through the Arrriva bus station. My very last bus ride on an ATP service ,route 34 to the Airport, 21.30 ,29th June 2011.
This bus EBY625,has a Leyland TL11 combined with a 6 speed manual gearbox mounted between the axles with its original Marshall bodywork heavily modified beneath the roofline. Not the equal depth windows all around without the original stepped design. This bus began its service life on 24th January 1970 on London Transport route 160 in Lewisham registered AML8H, and then was exported to Malta late in 1980 where it has worked since 1981.
24.1.70 to 2.7.11 R.I.P SM8 - this bus was delivered to a scrapyard in Mqabba for shredding on 11.7.11!
