Michael Weiss performs his long program to Beethoven, and includes the first ever Quadruple Lutz, later to be taken away because slow motion instant replay shows a two foot on the landing. In the International Jugding System, (now used in skating) - this jump would have gotten credit as the first ever landed Quad Lutz, with a minus on the GOE (grade of execution).
He received a standing ovation and went on to make the 1998 Olympic Team with this program performed in Philly. He is a 3 time National Champion, 2 time World Medalist, and current star on Smucker's Stars on Ice.

  • Beautiful program! Awesome to see the maturity and style gains from the previous year! He's one of my stand out US male skaters. One of the best 3L and 3F around!! ...and the man can also do handsome! Thanks, Mike!

  • I only have one word: WOW!!!!!!!!

  • I love the movements he makes right after he does the quad lutz. It's almost like Weiss does a victory dance in the fashion of a reverse pelvic thrust during 1:18-1:22

  • would be great to see his olympic long program. if anyone has it please post it up. thank you in advance

  • absolutely stunning. Michael has always been one of my favorite skaters!
