  • We do not know every soul that was at Sinai that would except Torah. The only way to find out is to find every soul that is willing to submit to Torah. If people are willing to learn, live and read and believe in Torah Judaism, then they are invited to join the Covenant, Just as in the Book of Ruth.

  • @geoasher

Actually, I didn't know that. Weren't the rabbis of the talmud called "rabbis"? I don't think I've ever seen the source but I've heard some pretty "frum" individuals say and write about how he thought about it like tey knew what they wewre talking about. Hpw about the blood thing, is that true? (that he believed it, not that its kosher)

  • I have recently read about Ruth, what a wonderful story. Naomi decides to return to Israel and urges her daughters-in-law to remarry and begin again. Orpah does. Ruth doesn't: "For wherever you go, I will go. Where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God will be my God." (Ruth 1:16)

  • @ThornUvDaath777 The Rambam Never said that a convert cannot become a Rabbi,,

And i'm sure you know that the title Rabbi didnt exist in his day...And he Clearly states that Shemayah and Avtalion were not only teachers (Rabbis) but sat on the Sanhedrin and they were both converts.. And he even says that a non Jew could become as great as Moshe Rabeinu through Torah...

  • Nice vid Asher, I ahd a feeling all along that Lubavitch were the ones responisble for this modern Noachide movement.

Still, since this whole thing seems to be based mostly on Rambam, did you know that Rambam said that gentiles could eat blood in his Laws of Kings? It was also his opinion that converts could not become rabbis, which was how he interpreted "you shall not set a foreigner over you", even though he corresponded with Rav Ovadiah "the Convert" substantially.

  • Yasher Koach Asher

  • @BornInTzyon Actually I''m in the process of Giyur myself(though my dad is jewish),and i hold my stance, that people should become jewish.

that has nothing to do with the fact Blindly adhering to rambam is wrong.its the principle of blindly following a Rabbi, without proof in Sifreh,Mechilta, Pesikta Rabati, Mishna, Tosefta, Talmud Yerushalmi and Talmud Bavli.opinions are not halacha.especially if their the opinions of someone Post-Chazal.

  • @BornInTzyon if you read the Babylonian Talmud, chazal said goyim may not learn Torah ..if they become yahudi this is different.Rambam making up new stuff is simply Wrong.

he ahs done this many times with This issue, pilagesh only for kings, man can convert himself etc and all i ask is where is the source for his halakha?

rambam said halakha is from those sources.so where is his Source?

    disagree with hashem?take a chill pill.I'm a Rambamist.

  • @ShlomoHaAvinoo Highly illogical! You disagree with HaShem. The way all people know Him & His covenant is to learn Torah! "Yesh 56"6 Also the aliens that join themselves to HaShem, to minister unto Him...to love the name..to be His servants, everyone that keeps the Shabbat ...& holds fast by My covenant:..I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer". Your own profile says. "All People of the world Should be Invited to Coem to This wonderfull Path"

  • this was very interesting. Rabbi Asher may be right but it seems that most jews feel you have to be born into the faith.
