Taken from the 2nd Episode of Season 6 (1982-1983)
Lonely here up in the Yukon
Freezing cold without my toque on
What a dream that I would fluke on you
Lost myself out in a blizzard
Wind and snow chillin' my gizzard
Who could know I'd find a wizard too
Love in the Arctic, la la la la la la la
They'll never know how it feels
Love in the Arctic, la la la la la la la
Just you and me and the seals
I'll make stew, I'll knit you sweaters
I'll work hard steaming open your letters
I'll sit here, cause this is my better side
Now I know how splendid bliss is
Warm and tender thrill of your kisses
What a randy Mountie this is now
Love in the Arctic, doogie doogie doogie day
My sweet little Eskimo pie
Love in the Arctic, doogie doogie doogie day
We certainly do sing high
Our hearts have no more secrets to tell us
You're more fun than most of the fellas
Now my German shepherd is jealous, ooh
We'll be wed by the preacher from Baton
You'll look cute with your pointed hat on
Pretty soon, there'll be lots of fat on you
Love in the Arctic, odie odie odie oh
So many swell things to do
Love in the Arctic, odie odie odie oh
So please don't call us, we'll be calling you
I would have loved to see that. During one of the slide shows during the final season, there was a picture of Steve and Morag dressed as you described.
It's a bloody shame they ended up wiping the first three seasons to record the later ones. If only at the time they'd have realized the life these shows can have in reruns almost 3 decades later. Pity, really.
