i agree wit you totally, also a big difference was that back then, folks that was singing back then was actually trying to live holy, they weren't just singing cause they had a pretty voice, and i contend that when you living right, and singing with all you got for God, it will move people

I'll see what I can get from my Dad... He lost a lot of stuff in a fire and because he had so many records, we aren't exactly sure what's gone until we are looking for it.

to me back then songs had more meaning&you could really feel what a person was singing about.this day&time it's all a show&who can put out a hit record.i miss hearing songs from the late lula collins,mahalia jackson,the shaw singers&the list goes on&on to me that was singing

Nothing against anyone; I enjoy all types of singing. But I like the old music because people really sang with heart. People didn't do a bunch of riffs & runs. They just stood flat footed and sang from the soul. People just don't do it like that anymore.
