Explorer MCI 2008 - video 1

Police, Fire & EMS Explorers from several posts throughout Michigan and Ohio join together for a day of scenario based training in Monroe, MI. FD is dispatched to an unknown medical and find combative patient with a knife. FD calls for police assistance to render the scene safe for medial treatment to begin.

I happen to strongly agree with you, and also we have been taught PPCT, yet we where urged to not use it in these scenarios because it was with volunteers, we did use PPCT in a few other scenarios during this day but i do appreciate your input

it was good but you need to be more aggressive with your tactics. never leave your gun just anywhere he could of had someone with him hiding and gotten the gun and you'd all be dead. other than that good work. from WCPD Post 499

My bad. I thought this was a response to a real, live, situation. Because I will say that that man, was treated very poorly. Particularly if in the scenario that the man you apprehending was a patient.

"Get up....or I will make you" and you spray him in the face? Whatever happened to procedure and protocol? If the subject is non-compliant and/or clearly has a mental defect, verbally diffusing the situation is the only SMART way to go. Besides it's not like this man can actually be charged with anything due to diminished capacity. Tsk tsk tsk it's very sloppy work . Weren't you taught how to diffuse a situation properly?

bigbluemsp: Thank god that as an officer, you think this looks bad. Unfortunatey, I suspect that such tactics will become "appropriate". I fear that our nation is going down the tubes, and that all of us who have worn the uniform will have to analyzee what the "foreign or domestic" part of the Oath really means.
