@Mantuanwar surely the sentiment can be taken from the song itself? just by singing it the band are perpetuating the legacy and opinions of the person or people who wrote it. I think sometimes protest songs are all the more potent when it's not someone shouting in your face about it but framing it in a beautiful non-threatening or non-incentive sound. They don't always have to be shouty or strident, the song transcends the tone, perfect ex. is Joni Mitchell's acapella fiddler & the drum on YT x
I think this misses the essence of the original song and the famous Pete Seeger version. Its not an "art" piece. Its social hall, street corner, protest meeting kind of thing. Musicianship in plenty but not the sentiment.
